General
How much is the deposit to secure our date?
We ask for a £1,000 deposit to confirm your big day, along with a signed copy of our terms and conditions. Then the planning fun begins.
When do we need to pay the final balance?
The first 50% is due six months prior to the wedding date, with the final balance due three months prior to the wedding date. Want to spread the cost? We can set up a monthly payment plan to keep things manageable.
Who will be looking after us?
You’ll have our dedicated Wedding Team by your side throughout the planning journey. Then on the day, our Banqueting Manager takes over to make sure everything runs like clockwork.
Where can we get ready on the morning of the wedding?
Many couples stay the night before to settle in. Need more space for glam squads and final touches? We may have a function room available – we’ll confirm this around a week before your wedding.
Can you recommend a venue stylist?
We sure can. We’ve worked with Creative Venue Styling for years, and they’re brilliant at bringing wedding visions to life – whatever your style or colour palette.
Guests
How many guests can you cater for?
Up to 140 for your ceremony and 200 for your evening do. Fancy going big? We’ve got space for a marquee in the grounds if you’re planning something extra special.
When do we need to confirm final numbers?
One month before the big day – the same time your final payment is due.
Is there free parking for guests?
There is indeed. We’ve got plenty of complimentary parking right outside the venue.
Can we use confetti?
Yes – as long as it’s biodegradable and used outdoors only. Let it rain (eco-friendly) confetti!
How many bedrooms can we hold for guests?
We’ll reserve 20 rooms for your guests when your day is confirmed. The Bridal Suite is yours for the night, on us.
How do our guests book their rooms?
Guests can call our Reservations Team on 01756 748080 and quote the wedding party. A £75 non-refundable deposit is taken at the time of booking, and the balance is settled on check-out. Any unsold rooms will be released six weeks ahead of the big day.
Can guests use the spa?
A one-hour complimentary spa session can be booked 20:00-22:00 or 7:00-10:00. This is bookable on arrival at the hotel reception and is subject to availability. Facilities are listed on the Nàdarra Spa page – booking in advance is essential.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Add early check-in from 13:00 or late check-out at 13:00 for an extra £30.
Ceremony
Where can we hold our ceremony?
You’ve got options. Choose from The Garnett Room, Winston’s Barn, the Bannister Suite, or head outdoors for something more wild and wonderful.
Can we get married outside?
Yes! Take your vows on the terrace, by the pillars, or tucked into the woodland. With 1,000 acres to play with, the only limit is your imagination.
Is there a church nearby?
There is – St Peter’s Church sits on the edge of the estate. We’d be happy to arrange a viewing.
Can we book the venue exclusively?
Yes, you can. Just ask our Wedding Team for availability and exclusivity rates.
How many weddings do you host each day?
Just yours. When you book your day with us, it’s all about you – no sharing required.
What’s the best time for a ceremony?
We recommend a 13:00 ceremony, with drinks and photos to follow. Wedding breakfast from 15:00, then evening guests from 19.30. Our team will make sure it all runs smoothly.
Can our dog be part of the ceremony?
In many cases, yes. Speak to our Wedding Team about dog-friendly spaces and what’s possible for your four-legged guest.
Wedding breakfast
Do you have a Master of Ceremonies?
Yes – one of our team will be on hand to help with announcements and keep things running smoothly.
Are candles allowed?
Enclosed floating candles or LED candles are allowed.
Can we bring our own cake?
Absolutely. Just make sure it arrives the day before or by the morning of your wedding.
Can we add favours to the tables?
Yes – we’ll set them out for you. Please drop them off the day before your wedding.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Of course. Our Head Chef, Thomas Robertson, will work with you to create something delicious for every guest.
Are there different menus to choose from?
Yes – we offer seasonal menus, and we’re happy to explore custom dishes if you have something special in mind.
Do we have to stick to a set menu?
Your package includes a set menu, but you can offer a choice for a small supplement. Just ask our Wedding Team for details.
Is there a children’s menu?
There is. Let us know how many children are attending, and we’ll make sure their meals are marked on your table plan.
Do you allow external caterers?
We don’t allow outside caterers, but if there’s a particular dish or cuisine you’re dreaming of, let us know – we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Can we bring our own wine?
Yes, you can – corkage fees apply. Speak to our Wedding Team for more info.
Evening reception
What time does the bar close?
Last orders are at 1:00 – the perfect end to the perfect day.
Do you have a dancefloor?
We do – a polished wooden one, ready for your guests to dance the night away.
Can we organise our own entertainment?
Of course. Just send over a copy of their public liability insurance and PAT testing.
What time should the entertainment finish?
All entertainment should wrap up by 1:00.
Are taxis easy to book?
They are. Our Reception Team can arrange one for you – we recommend allowing around 20 minutes for it to arrive.
Photography
Where can we take our wedding photos?
All around you. From sweeping hilltop views over the Dales to the still edge of the lake, and the striking backdrop of the Hall itself, the Estate is full of picture-perfect spots.
Do you provide transport around the grounds?
We don’t, but your photographer will usually plan any on-site transport needed in advance.
