Frequently Asked Questions
We know how daunting it can be when you start to organise your big day which is why we’ve popped together a few useful Q&A’s to help with that all-important planning! Don’t worry, we’ll be with you every step of the way and if you need any extra assistance, our Wedding Team are always here to help!
General

What deposit is required to book a date?
We ask for a deposit of £950 to confirm your special day which should be returned along with a signed copy of our terms and conditions.

When is the final payment due?
Final payment is due two weeks before the big day. You can also set up a monthly payment plan to help with your budget planning.

Who will be my main point of contact?
We have a dedicated Wedding Team. Katie, Rae and Emily will be there to help in the run up to your big day and on the day itself.

Where can I get ready on the morning?
Many of our happy couple’s book to stay the evening before. If you require a little more space for the wedding party to prep for the main event, we may have some function space available which you are more than welcome to use. Availability for this will be confirmed one week before.

Do you have a recommended venue stylist?
We have worked with industry leaders Creative Venue Styling for many years. Aaron and the team are fantastic at helping bring your vision to life, whatever your theme or colour scheme!
Guests

How many guests can you accommodate?
100 for a civil ceremony and 200 guests for your evening event. With 1,400 acres of beautiful countryside, we do have space to host a marquee which can increase your guest capacity.

When are final numbers due?
Two weeks before the event, when your final balance is due.

Do you have a free car park for guests to use?
Yes! We have plenty of free car parking to the front of the venue.

Do you allow confetti?
Yes, but we do ask that it is biodegradable.

How many bedrooms can we reserve?
20 bedrooms will be reserved for your guests upon confirmation of your day. The happy couple will be given the Bridal Suite complimentary on the night of the wedding.

How do guests’ book?
Guests can call Reservations directly on 01756 748080, quoting the wedding party. Full payment will be taken at the time if booking. Any rooms unsold will be released on general sale 6 weeks before your wedding.

Can guests use the spa?
Spa access is available to guests for a supplement charge. Guests should call Reservations on 01756 748080 to arrange this.

What time is check in and check out?
Check in is 3pm and check out is 11am.
Ceremony

Where can I get married at the venue?
We have two magnificent function spaces for a civil ceremony; The Garnett Room and Winston’s Barn or plenty of outdoor space to take your vows.

Can I get married outside?
Absolutely! Choose to say ‘I do’ on our breath-taking terrace with panoramic views of the countryside, lakeside by our romantic jetty or even nestled in the woodland. The possibilities are endless!

Are there any churches nearby?
Yes. St Peter’s Church is nestled on the edge of the Estate. Speak to our Wedding Team to arrange a viewing.

Can I book out the venue exclusively?
Yes. Exclusivity charges are applicable. Speak to our Wedding Team for further details.

How many weddings do you hold in one day?
Just one! This is your day, all about you!

What time do you recommend we get married?
We recommend a 1pm ceremony, drinks reception from 1.30pm – 3pm whilst taking those all-important pics too, followed by your wedding breakfast from 3pm. Evening guests would typically arrive from 7.30pm and we’d ask your day guests to retire to the bar from 6pm so we can prepare for your evening guests!

Can my dog attend the ceremony?
Of course! We love our four-legged friends!
Wedding Breakfast

Do you have a Master of Ceremonies?
One of our friendly team can assist with any announcements you require on the day.

Do you allow candles?
Yes, we do however they must be in a safe stand.

Can we bring our own cake?
Of course! We just ask that this is delivered the day before or early morning of the wedding at the very latest.

Can we put favours on the tables?
You can indeed! We will pop these out for you – please ensure we have the day before your wedding.

Can you cater for all dietary requirements?
Of course. Our Head Chef Thomas Robertson will work with you on any specific dietary requirements you may have.

Do you have different menus to choose from?
We have seasonal menus to choose from but if there is something in-particular you would like for your wedding breakfast, do let us know and we’ll speak to Chef!

Do we have to have a set menu?
A set menu is included in your package. You can offer guests a choice menu for a supplement. Please speak to a member of the Wedding Team for charges.

Do you have a children’s menu?
Yes. Please advise the Wedding Team how many are required and indicate on your table plan where these are to be located.

Do you allow external caterers?
Unfortunately, we don’t. If there are specific catering options you would like that don’t appear on the menu, please speak to a member of the Wedding Team and we’ll see what we can do for you!

Can we provide our own wines?
You can supply your own wine although there will be a corkage charge. Please speak to a member of the Wedding Team for further details.
Evening Reception

What time does the bar close?
We can provisionally hold your special day for 2 weeks. However, if you need a little longer, do get in touch and we’d be happy to extend a little while.

What time should entertainment finish?
We have a dedicated Wedding Team. Sharon and Sam have years of experience between them and will be there to help in the run up to your big day and on the day itself.

Are taxis readily available?
Many of our happy couple’s book to stay the evening before. If you require a little more space for the wedding party to prep for the main event, we may have some function space available which you are more than welcome to use. Availability for this will be confirmed one week before.
Photography

Where can I have my photos taken?
There are many iconic photo opportunities on the Estate. From way up in the hills overlooking the Dale, to the glistening waters edge and by our magnificent hall and surroundings, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Do you provide transport around the grounds?
We don’t unfortunately. Your photographer will arrange this directly with you.
